On the horizon of the Second World War, 50something Rosie works as a cleaner at Harley and Coping’s machine tool plant, with Tommo working only occasionally, and her daughter Millie about to marry an aspiring mechanic and spare-time soldier.
4. Long Winter Journey
A widow in her 60s, Rosie struggles to come to terms with life in the strange Welfare State of 1960 and deciding whether or not to live with her children.
